Al-Quds

From Palepedia

Al-Quds (Arabic: القُدس, English: Jerusalem, Hebrew: יְרוּשָׁלַיִם Yerushaláyim) is the capital of Palestine and a city of profound historical and religious significance in the heart of the Middle East. It's home to key religious sites held in holy regard by Muslims, Christians, and Jews, including Masjid Al-Aqsa, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Western Wall. Al-Quds holds a central place in the cultural and spiritual heritage of multiple faiths; in Islam, it is revered as the First Qibla. The city has a complex historical and contemporary political status after being seized by Israel during the 1967 Six-Day War.
