Boeing

From Palepedia

The Boeing Company is an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes, rotorcraft, rockets, satellites, telecommunications equipment, and missiles worldwide.[1] Boeing is the fifth-largest weapons manufacturer worldwide and an important military supplier to Israel.

Israeli use of Boeing products[edit | edit source]

Boeing manufactures F-15 fighter jets and Apache AH-64 attack helicopters, which the Israeli Air Force has used extensively in all of its attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, including in 2023.[citation needed]

Boeing also manufactures multiple types of unguided small diameter bombs (SDBs) and Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kits. The Israeli Air Force uses these JDAM kits to convert SDB bombs into precision-guided munitions — although the majority of Israel's bombings in Gaza were conducted with unguided, low-precision "dumb bombs", which are faster and cheaper to deploy, more readily available, and virtually impossible to use without heavy civilian collateral damage.[2] Even when using JDAM kits instead of "dumb bombs", Israel still manages to inflict heavy civilian casualties. Israel's air strikes in Gaza make heavy use of JDAM munitions.

Israeli use of Boeing JDAMs in Gaza[edit | edit source]

  • Immediately after Oct. 7, Boeing expedited delivery of 1,000 smart bombs,[3] and another 1,800 JDAM kits,[4] to Israel. Both deliveries were part of a 2021 order that Israel made during its previous large-scale attack on Gaza.
  • On October 10th and 22nd, 2023, the Israeli military used bombs equipped with Boeing JDAM kits to carry out what Amnesty International called "unlawful air strikes on homes full of civilians in the occupied Gaza Strip."[7] The attacks killed 24 people of the Al-Najjar family and 19 people of the Abu Mu'eileq family.
